Zoom Etiquette: Preparing For and Running Online Meetings
This course is for practising virtual assistants who spend part of every day on Zoom or a similar online meeting platform, whether you are joining a client’s team call, hosting a discovery session or sitting in on a large group briefing. It is based on a single source: etiquette consultant Jamila Musayeva’s video “Zoom Etiquette: How To Prepare For a Zoom Meeting”.
You will work through the twelve etiquette rules covered in the source: being on time and prepping your kit, how to communicate when you are running late, muting, keeping your camera on, dressing properly, relocating mid-call, lighting, background and staging, eating and drinking, eye contact, pauses, signing in under your own name, small talk, and being tolerant of other people’s technical trouble.
By the end you will have a repeatable pre-call routine, a fixed “Zoom spot” set up for good light and a neutral background, and clear rules for how to behave once the call starts, so that clients read you as prepared, respectful and easy to work with.
