This course is for virtual assistants and executive assistants who have been handed access to a client’s email and social inboxes and need a repeatable way to run them. It is built on the “guarding your client’s attention” part of the executive assistant role: making sure your client only sees the messages that matter, at the right time and in the right format.

You will learn how to run a discovery walkthrough before you touch anything, how to apply a four-category triage system (urgent and important, needs a response, FYI, junk/unsubscribe), how to clean a backlog of hundreds of emails using filters, labels and unsubscribes, and how to draft replies that sound like your client using sample emails, templates and AI support.

By the end you will be able to set up a working triage and filter system with a new client, produce a short daily brief of what you handled and what needs their attention, and document the whole process so the inbox keeps running even when you are on leave.

Content review due: October 2027. This course covers tools or features that change over time (The Gmail filter walkthrough (search options, ‘has the words’, skip-the-inbox, unsubscribe button) and the availability of built-in mail AI assistants depend on current interfaces that vendors change ). Check it still matches the current product before renewing it.
